Academics

Habans’ core academic program follows the Louisiana Comprehensive Curriculum. The Louisiana Comprehensive Curriculum is supplemented with the following research based programs: Read 180 computer based literacy program, Fast Math and First Math computer based mathematic programs, Voyagers reading program, and Foss’ “Hands On” Science.

Habans’ middle school science students also benefit from being a proud part of a multi-million dollar grant from Chevron . The grant provides for additional laboratory equipment for students and professional development for science teachers.

Habans is a recipient of the Laura Bush Foundation grants for libraries.

Habans enhances students’ learning with exploratory electives, computer science, health and physical education.
